AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior Bahraini cleric considered the main issue in the Persian Gulf Arab country to be the people’s demand for justice regarding their political future.
The Bahraini people, with high political awareness, adhere to the discourse of national unity and continue to sacrifice, but they will not compromise, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Daqaq said at a press conference on the 15th anniversary of the February 14 Revolution.
It was held at the former site of the former US embassy in Tehran, known as the “den of espionage”.
Noting that rights do not lapse with the passage of time, Al-Daqaq said February 14, 2011, was a turning point in Bahrain’s political history; a day that showed that the Bahraini nation is seeking human dignity and creating a change that guarantees the socio-political rights of all citizens fairly.
The director of the Bahraini seminary in Iran considered the main issue in Bahrain to be “the people’s demand for justice regarding their political future,” and said the Bahraini people, with their high political awareness, have adhered to legitimate demands, a peaceful approach, and the discourse of national unity, and continue to sacrifice; although the government has resorted to developing tools of political elimination and revenge in confronting political opponents.
Sheikh Daqaq said Bahraini authorities have taken security measures to end the political and religious presence of the opposition, and in this regard, they have dissolved the Council of Scholars, the Al-Wefaq Group, the Islamic Awakening Group, and other political groups, and have arrested opposition leaders.
He added that the pressures have also reached religious platforms, and even the Friday prayers of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim were closed.
“This is because the Bahraini rulers are seeking to abuse religious platforms to advance a project of normalization with Israel and to submit to American policies. Of course, the Bahraini people will not submit to it and will not accept political dictates.”
He described the normalization of relations with Israel as the most dangerous development and emphasized that the people of Bahrain do not recognize this regime.
